Let’s face it: organizing can be a real drag. At the same time, if you want to save as much money as possible as efficiently as possible, you need to be organized. Now, you don’t need to spend an arm and a leg to organize your refunds and proofs of purchase (that would defeat the purpose, don’t you think?). All you need are some common household items. Have a few old shoe boxes? Perfect. Ziplock bags in the kitchen? Paperclips from the office? You’re all set.

Using these tools, you can divvy up your important couponing documents by expiration date, product, etc. Do you have a bunch of rebate offers due by the same date? Paperclip them together and put them in a ziplock bag that’s been labeled with the expiration date. By putting the info on the bag, it will prove much easier for you to access the information quickly. So here are the steps:

  1. Paperclip relevant documents together.
  2. Group these documents into labelled ziplock bags, i.e. sort them by expiration date, store, etc.
  3. Put said ziplock bags into empty shoe boxes to keep them safe from pets and spills.

When you’re ready to head to the store, grab the relevant ziplock bags for use. This is why it’s so much easier to organize your coupons, receipts, refunds, etc. so far in advance. That way, when you need to go to the store without a moment to spare, you can just grab your bag and go.
